The San Diego International Airport's car rental center project proposes to centralize the airport's vehicle rental facilities on the north side of Lindbergh Field. It is a designated site for a variety of automobile rental organizations, including national brands, local enterprises, independent operators, and small-scale car rental businesses. The project consolidates the majority of the airport's automobile rental businesses into a single, convenient location off Pacific Highway. By putting these companies together, it improves efficiency and accessibility for airport passengers looking for rental cars. This project is categorized as a parking structure and belongs within the transportation sector. The car rental center has a large gross floor area of 2.000.000 sqft, which allows for plenty of space for vehicle storage, customer service spaces, and administrative amenities.
